Website
When you use malayaako.ph, we automatically collect your data using cookies, which are non-identifying information such as web surfing behavior or user preferences that allow us to recognize you when you come back to the site. We do this to also understand what you are interested in and how we can improve our website features and content.
We use a third-party service, Google Analytics, to generate reports on usage trends and patterns of our audience.
Chatbot
When you interact with Aya, our chatbot, we ask for personal information such as your age, location, and your practices and preference regarding sexual health, mental health, relationships, growing up, SOGIESC, and COVID-19.
If provided to us, we share your data with a third-party company called Avigate, which helps us track and analyze our platform’s performance as well as trends on young people’s opinions and behavior. We do this to ensure that our content is tailored to your needs, background, and interests.
Social Media
When you interact with our content on social media (viewing, reacting, commenting, sharing, etc.), the social media platforms automatically collect data and share them with us through built-in insights reporting. We study this data also to understand your interests and how we can improve our content. How long your data is stored depends on the data retention policies of the particular social media platforms.
Linking data
We might compare data from the platforms mentioned to help us better understand our audience and improve our services. For example, we may check how many of our website and social media audiences also use our chatbot and consume the information that we offer.
I CHOOSE collects, uses, and discloses your personal information responsibly for the following purposes
We take appropriate physical, electronic, and organizational measures to keep your data safe and secure and protected from alteration, unauthorized access, destruction, and loss.
Only authorized persons of this campaign’s implementing partners shall have access to it. Online data is password protected and offline data is stored in secured locked cabinets in implementing partners’ offices. Our third party suppliers are bound by legal contracts and have entered into non-disclosure agreements. Other than the instances stated above, we will only disclose your information if required by Philippine law.
We only keep the information you give as long as necessary and in the length of time you agree to.
The I CHOOSE Privacy Policy was developed in accordance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (DPA), its implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR), other issuances of the National Privacy Commission (NPC), and other relevant laws in the Philippines. We regularly review our Privacy Policy and will update it as needed. This Privacy Policy was last updated on 19 December 2022.
